Report to Members September 2018
Summer is almost over and now our thoughts are on what new activities we can come up with for the Fall and Winter Seasons.
We were closed for two weeks in July in order for the patching and painting to be done. You may have noticed that the inside or our building looks a little brighter now with the lighter paint colour. We also had the floors stripped and waxed.
On Saturday, August 18th we held a BBQ here at the Centre that was well attended and good food was enjoyed by all. These events are a wonderful opportunity for our members and their guests to visit with others that they do not see outside of their regular activities.
In August we had a car pool trip down to the Chemainus Theatre for lunch and a matinee showing of Grease. Everyone had an excellent time.
The bus to Victoria scheduled for September 11 was fully booked. No worries, there is another planned for October 30. Make sure to put your name on the list right away so you don’t miss your chance to go.
Monday, October 8th we will be having a Thanksgiving lunch. Turkey with all the trimmings complete with dessert and coffee. This event is for members and their guests only. Cost $7.00
Starting January we will be celebrating birthdays for the current month on the third Wednesday of that month. Free cake and coffee to our birthday members.
Sandi Langenhan, our kitchen director would like to send out a big thanks to all the volunteers that help to keep the kitchen running smoothly.
