December 2022 Newletter

2023-01-15

To our Favourite Honoured Citizens.

Just a few words to keep you updated before we reopen. We hope you all had a lovely Christmas despite the snow. During the few days of lock down, I had a chance to play catch-up with baking, and just breathing, and enjoying the silent time of snow falling; remembering how excited I would be when I went outside to build a snowman, and throw snowballs at my brothers, oh those were the days! Now when I go outside in the snow, I’m saying to myself don’t fall, don’t fall, you might not get up. Inside is better for us who are seniors, looking outside is enough excitement, and listening to the news of all the poor people who must deal with the driving in it, and we get to stay inside and count our blessings.

New Year is just a few days away, and we have some announcements to make to keep you informed. Please note the changes in costs as well as what exciting things we have
to look forward to.

Just a reminder I will be looking for 3 experienced perogie pinchers on January 20th at 2:00 in the afternoon to help make this wonderful dish. I’m also looking for cabbage roll makers. You will be reimbursed for the cabbage rolls you make. Please call me 250-248- 4846 if you can do this. Also, I will be looking for help on the 20th of January at 3:30 to set-up the tables as well as clean-up after the luncheon, call the office 250-586-5999 if you are available.

We at the Centre want to wish you the very best New Year 2023 and that all your wishes for the future will come true. I’ve already heard from some of my friends that 20 pounds didn’t seem like too much to lose and it could be easily done, just stop eating that Christmas baking!!! and don’t bake anymore. Start to exercise at the Centre and support your friends by being there too. Oh yeah, did I mention that’s my goal as well. See you all soon, we’re opening on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023, and we’re looking forward to seeing you. Membership dues are due and we will be asking to see your 2023 membership card. Dues are $20.00 and we take cash or cheques only.
